VET Stakeholder Engagement Workshops

A series of workshops were held in Canberra on 4-6 February 2014 with representatives from industry, registered training organisations (RTOs), Industry Skills Councils and Australian Apprenticeships Centres. These workshops were the first step in an ongoing engagement with the sector to discuss the strengths of the current national training system and areas where the system could be improved.

The workshops were extremely valuable and presented a range of viewpoints which will inform the work being undertaken by the VET Reform Taskforce and the development of policy.

To complement the initial workshops, the Taskforce will be hosting workshops in each of the other capital cities throughout March 2014. Representatives from the Minster Macfarlane’s office will also be attending. The purpose of the workshops is to discuss the current VET system and listen to ideas for potential future reform.

The current workshop schedule is found in  VETFORM.  If there is demand for more workshops than currently scheduled, additional workshops may be scheduled.
