RTO systems are not hard if you have a systematic approach in your RTO and keep it simple.
This + This + this = OUTCOME.
Make your RTO system work for you and your staff, as well as meeting compliance. You must be able to define it and demonstrate the measurable outcomes.
Think about the little things in your business that you can be more consistent on.
Review the standards, pull them apart. Drill down to the elements and work how you can make your RTO meet those requirements. Review your policies and procedures; do you still do what is written in them? Have you ever done what is written in them? Make your policies say “We will do this, in this way, in this time.”
Audits are events. Don’t make your systems just to meet the auditors requirements, do it every day. Make compliance an everyday activity. All day, every day.
It is not just about you however, you need to educate everyone in your business that it is their role to manage the compliance. All day, every day.
That way you don’t have that rush of panic when the auditor contacts you and says “ I will be in your office next week!”
