Passion in the Australian VET sector

I am impressed by the number of passionate people in the VET sector. People who are willing to share their thoughts, question decisions and call upon people when needed. Lately I have been inspired by people around me, the ones who call when they know that an audit is due in the next 12 months! I love it. These people see the need to make sure things are right, well and truly before the bell is ringing.

I think we would all agree that having an RTO is not just having a training business. It, like so many other businesses, needs to have a focus on many areas; including compliance, business management and people management.

Is 2014 any different to other years? No, it is however an excellent time to start checking if your house is in order; even if you did it in 2013! Invest in your compliance, so you know you meet your regulatory requirements, improve your business model and allow 2015 to be the year to reap the real financial results.

As RTOs, we need to make sure we have the tools and resources to do the job, and we must stay innovative (see my earlier post on inspiration and my books!), and we need to reach out to people who can assist you when you can.

Use your resources around you to ensure your RTO is compliant

Before you get back into the panic of business as normal, take a few days to look at your business compliance systems, or have an RTO Consultant do it for you.
