Moving forward with your RTO initial registration

I read somewhere recently that humans are inspirational goal seeking beings. The scientific research includes areas of mindset, expectancy theory, self-determination theory, explanatory style theory, self-esteem and self-efficacy and locus of control theories, just to name a few. I know for myself I certainly am.

This got me thinking about how people set goals year after year, and wondering how people handle the bumps that come in between achieving the goals. So often I set goals, and yes I achieve many of them, but there are a few that slip through the net.

Why is that?

OK, so the goals are important, and the reality is, along the way of trying to achieve your goals, well stuff happens! This stuff takes time away from you and often is not pleasant, aligned with you achieving your goals.

The question is how do you handle these bumps that life offers you? Are you POSITIVE? Do you blame someone else? Or something else? Do you keep going and perhaps put in strategies to soften the blow or reduce the risk?

I read so often people in the VET sector who can’t handle the changes happening around them, and they so often appear to be blaming someone else. I guess though, we don’t very often write in a public place about mistakes we make, and how we are going to fix them. We so often keeps these close to our chest. So maybe there is something in that.

There are people who I talk to year after year and they still haven’t decided to make a change. They say they want to set up an RTO, but….something just gets in their way.

Maybe this year, the year of 2014 is going to be different for you. Or maybe you need to ask for the support and understanding of someone who has done it all before.
