Industry information to assist RTOs

To extend the work already done in workforce development, Skills Australia has developed Industry Snapshots to provide additional information and analysis on each industry. This information can assist stakeholders in planning for the future of their industry or sector.

The Industry Snapshots draw heavily on the future scenarios outlined in the Australian Workforce Futures: A National Workforce Development Strategy, using 2007 data as their base year.

The very interesting and useful snapshots draw on labour market and other economic statistics from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and data from various sources within the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).

The information also includes a section on workforce initiatives, compiled from the Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) e-scans. The ISCs e-scans are generally available around May each year, compiled from information provided from the ISCs themselves and from other research activities.

Use this information to gather further data for your new RTO and your learning and assessment strategies.
